Ah that's most likely a Form Feed. Are you using New Page After in a section or hard coding Char (12), which is ASCII for Form Feed, into a formula?
ASCII 12 is the code for Form Feed but if you type alt-12 into a text editor and you should get the same character.
Are you exporting to Plain Text or Paginated? Paginated shouldn't insert the FF character. It defaults to 60 lines per page.
