I reviewed your replies to others in this thread and see that Sheetal had you get the ascii value of the Item object and it is returning a value.
But what I find odd is that you're saying DeskI is returning the correct value when performing the IsNull() boolean? Is this on the exact same data that you're pulling back with WebI?
What SPs or FPs do you have installed on your XI 3.1 system? Perhaps you're running into a defect.
